He shouldn’t have been drinking and driving, I shall prosecute him in court, said Dragana Šiljak, mother of one of three girls who died in a traffic accident near Kula.

Božidarka Đukić (23), Marija Fekete (17) i Tatjana Godz (15), who died three days ago in a traffic accident on the road between Ruski Krstur and Kula, when Mihajlo Sabadoš (23) lost control of his “Renault” and landed off the road, were buried yesterday in cemeteries in Crvenka and Kula.

Marija Fekete, her stepsister M.S. (14) and Tatjana Godz were in a disco that fateful night, and when they set back home on foot, Sabadoš picked them up with his car, in which there already were Božidarka Đukić and Jovan V. (18).

Jovan and M.S. suffered injuries in the accident and are fighting for their lives, while the driver is in custody. – That Mihajlo, who hurt my children, should be in prison for the rest of his days. I shall prosecute him in court, he shouldn’t have been drinking and driving – said Dragana Šiljak, mother of deceased Marija and injured M.S.

Neighbors spoke words of praise for the driver. – He was never problematic. He’s quiet and hardworking. He earned money and bought that car all by himself. This was maybe his first time being drunk. His father, mother and sister are desperate, they locked themselves in their house – said the neighbors. Just three days before the accident Mihajlo posted an ad on a website in which he tried to sell the car for 800 euros. – If he had sold it, perhaps the accident could have been avoided – said the neighbors.
