The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Nis is working on a case that provoked a stormy reaction from Nis. Other witnesses were heard after the accident in Duvanište, interrogations and detention of the driver of the “Audi” who killed a 12-year-old child and a 48-year-old man. And the investigation with expertise continues.

Almost 20 days have passed since the tragic accident on Bulevar Mediana, and the investigation in this case, as they say in prosector’s office, continues.

The prosecutor examined the witnesses. Witnesses have been examined, and a further expert examination process is expected. Traffic expertise is waiting for a report from the extraordinary technical inspection and forensic medicine – they say in public prosecutor’s office.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old driver N. S. is in custody. He was questioned a few days after the accident.

The accident took many residents of Nis to the streets, and their dissatisfaction cost the position of the now former chief of the Traffic Police. Patrols and traffic control in the city have been strengthened, and additional improvement of traffic infrastructure is planned.

However, the residents of Nis are being invited via social networks for another protest walk today at 3 p.m.
