A vehicle leaving the Boulevard and hitting a pedestrian
In this case, I represented the family of a deceased pedestrian, who was hit by the driver of a passenger motor vehicle who, on a critical occasion, was traveling at a speed that was more than 70 km/h higher than the speed limit, when he ran off the road and hit two pedestrians who were walking on the sidewalk. In this proceeding, the defendant driver was sentenced to 7 years in prison, which sentence was later reduced to 5 years by the judgment of the Court of Appeal. Also, during the duration of the criminal proceedings, I collected all types and types of damages from the competent insurance company for the legal successors of the deceased pedestrian.
